The defender signed a new long-term contract with the Sky Blues.

Josko Gvardiol will continue his career in the future at Etihad by inking a new 5-year deal with the option of an additional year.

The defender hailed the EPL club as “the best in the world” after committing his future to the Sky Blues.

Man City announced that Josko’s deal will be until 2031, with the option of one more season. Gvardiol is the 2nd defender to agree a new contract with Manchester City after Abdukodir Khusanov did the same.

The Croatian player signed with the Sky Blues 3 years ago, when Man City paid 77 million pounds for him to RB Leipzig, and Gvardiol didn’t disappoint as he won the team’s Player of the Year award for the 2024-25 campaign.

Since his transfer to the Premier League, Josko has played 122 matches and scored 13 goals despite playing as a defender. He has won every possible trophy with the club in the last 3 years, but in the upcoming season, it will be his 1st without Pep Guardiola being his head coach.
