Zidane becomes France’s head coach officially

Ex-Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane has been confirmed as the manager of the France national team.

Didier Deschamps, the country’s longest-serving head coach, ending his 14-year period at the helm after France’s ½ final elimination to Spain at the World Cup.

Zinedine, who lifted the World Cup with his nation in 1998, has not been a head coach since leaving Los Blancos after his 2^nd time as manager in 2021. He will ink a deal to remain as head coach at least until the 2030 World Cup.

After the news of his appointment, Zidane shared with the media that he is proud and happy to become the head coach of his country:

“I had said it several times in the past: there is nothing greater than our national team. So without a doubt it’s joy and pride to be the head coach of France.”

Zidane also thanked the French governing football body for the chance that they gave him after Deschamps department.

Zinedine will have the chance to debut very soon in a competitive match as France will face Turkey away from home on September 25^th in the Nations League.
