Liverpool came out in top in their Anfield clash with Aston Villa in a convincing fashion to continue their strong start of the 2023-24 campaign on Sunday.

The hosts were up un running as early as the 3rd minutes, when new signing Dominik Szoboszlai found the bag of the net for his first goal for the club.
The Reds doubled their lead in the 22nd minutes after an unfortunate rebound from Darwin Nunez shot, found the back of Matty Cash and the ball rolled into the net.
Liverpool looked dangerous with every attack and only the lack of concentration in the finishing prevented them from scoring even more.
Early on in the second half star striker Mohamed Salah, whose future is still uncertain, wrapped it up for the more dominant team as he collected a fine cross from Nunez at the back post.
Liverpool now have 10 out of possible 12 points, 2 behind League leaders Manchester City, who so far have not made a mistake. Tottenham Hotspur slot in 2nd, also with 10, but with better goal difference, compared to the Anfield team.
