Medvedev defeats Coric to set up Djokovic clash in Dubai

Russian Daniil Medvedev secured the last ticket to the semi-finals of the Dubai ATP 500 tournament with a 6:3, 6:2 win over Croatian Borna Coric.

In the first set Medvedev managed to take two brakes, enough to close the part 6:3.

The second set started with a surprising break from Coric to take a 2-0 lead. After that, however, Medvedev was unchallenged, making three consecutive breaks and won the next 6 games. Medvedev will fight for a place in the final against Novak Djokovic, with Germany’s Alexander Zverev and Russia’s Andrey Rublev meeting in the other semi-final.
