Milan faced Atalanta at the San Siro in the 26th round of the Italian championship and finished 1-1.
The first half was evenly matched, evident in both the shot statistics (9-7) and the scoreline, as the teams exchanged goals, heading into halftime with a level score.
Rafael Leao gave the home team the lead in the 3rd minute with a superb individual run and a precise strike from outside the penalty area. Atalanta responded with a converted penalty from Teun Koopmeiners.
The second half witnessed a fierce battle on the field, marked by more intensity than clear-cut chances. Despite opportunities for Davide Calabria, Olivier Giroud, and Leao, they couldn’t find a way past Atalanta’s goalkeeper Marco Carnesecchi.
Milan maintains their position in third place in Serie A with 53 points, while Atalanta occupies the fifth spot with 46 points.
