Despite playing with an injured calf, Murray proved crucial for Denver once again with a winning shot

Jamal Murray’s clutch jumper with four seconds remaining propelled the Denver Nuggets to a 108-106 victory over the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 5 of their first-round playoff series.

With this win, the second-seeded Nuggets secured a 4-1 series victory and advanced to the Western Conference semifinals, where they will face the third-seeded Minnesota Timberwolves.

Murray, who also delivered a game-winning shot in Game 2, once again showcased his clutch gene by scoring 12 of his game-high 32 points in the fourth quarter, despite playing through a strained left calf.

Nikola Jokic contributed a dominant performance with 25 points, 20 rebounds, nine assists, and seven turnovers, narrowly missing out on a triple-double. Michael Porter Jr. added 26 points, while Aaron Gordon chipped in with 13 rebounds for the Nuggets.

On the Lakers side, LeBron James led the charge with 30 points, 11 assists, and nine rebounds, nearly recording a triple-double. Anthony Davis battled through an injured left shoulder to contribute 17 points and 15 rebounds. However, Taurean Prince’s long-range attempt at the buzzer fell short, sealing the Lakers’ fate.
