Two penalties at Allianz Arena leave both teams in equal starting positions for next week

Vinicius Junior’s brace helped Real Madrid secure a 2-2 draw in the first leg of their Champions League semi-final clash with Bayern Munich.

The Brazilian forward capitalized on two errors from Bayern defender Kim Min-jae, first displaying his pace to beat the defender and slotting the ball past goalkeeper Manuel Neuer for the opener. He then coolly converted a penalty after Kim fouled Rodrygo in the box.

England captain Harry Kane pulled one back for Bayern with a penalty of his own early in the second half, after Jamal Musiala was brought down by Lucas Vazquez in the box. Shortly after, Leroy Sane leveled the score with a powerful strike inside the near post.

Despite Bayern’s early dominance, Real Madrid took the lead against the run of play, but a quick turnaround in the second half saw the momentum shift back to the German side.

Bayern continued to apply pressure and had opportunities to extend their lead, but a late mistake by Kim, who fouled Rodrygo in the box, allowed Real Madrid to equalize from the penalty spot.

With the tie finely poised, both teams head into the second leg at the Bernabeu Stadium with everything to play for.
