Argentina head coach Lionel Scaloni has revealed that superstar Leo Messi will not be “fully fit” when he joins up with his teammates for the upcoming World Championship.
The Inter Miami forward sustained a hamstring problem in his latest MLS match, and made all the fans of the football worried just several weeks before the start of the 2026 World Cup.
The Argentinian star had to be replaced during his team’s 6-4 victory in the league, and the rumors started about his condition and if he would be fit for the World Cup. Now his national manager gave more details about his condition, sharing that his injury is not serious, but still, Lionel is not at 100%.
“The recent news are not so bad,” Argentina’s boss revealed to the media. “Now, the most important thing for us is to be patient as we wait for additional tests.”
Scaloni added that one thing is certain, and that is that Messi will not join the squad at his 100%, but it’s not just him, but a lot of other players are also not fully fit.
