Carlos Alcaraz from Spain, the 2nd-seeded player in the Olympic Games in Paris, defeated 2-0 sets the Dutch Tallon Griekspoor and advanced to the 3rd round of the tennis tournament on clay in the French capital.
Alcaraz dominated in the 1st set and converted 2 breaks from 3 chances while Griekspoor had only 1 break opportunity, but the Spaniard saved it to triumph 6-1. However, in the 2nd set, Tallon had the only break chance, but again, Carlos saved it, and the set was decided after a tie-break. The Spaniard showed his class in the tiebreak and won it 7-3 points as he closed the set for 1 hour and 15 minutes, but that was enough for the victory in straight sets.
