The hosts had an unbelievable efficiency as they bagged 5 goals from the 6 shots on target they had all game. Thomas Tuchel men controlled much of the possession and had plenty of chances, but were just lacklustre and clueless.
Frankfurt were in front as early as the 12th minute through Omar Marmousch strike.
Two quickfire goals gave the hosts a 3-0 lead l much to the shock of the Bavarians. Joshua Kimmich restored their hopes in the dying minutes of the first half as he nestled the ball past goalkeeper Kevin Trapp.
But Eintracht showed no signs of stopping and a second goal from Eric Ebimbe and Ansgar Knauff compounded Thomas Tuchel’s side misery and rounded off the final scoreline.
The heavy defeat means Bayern remain 3 points off the top with Bayer Leverkusen yet to play their game.
