Bill suggested the Super Bowl trophy be named after his legendary quarterback.

The Super Bowl title is named after Vince Lombardi, the legendary Green Bay Packers manager who led his franchise to victories in the 1st 2 Super Bowls.

However, Bill Belichick shared coaches can’t win matches without the footballers and suggested the Lombardi Trophy be renamed after Tom Brady, who triumphed with a league-record 7 Super Bowl titles during his time in the NFL – 6 with Bill as his boss at New England.

Belichick, the ex-Patriots manager who is now at the helm of the University of North Carolina, shared that on the “Let’s Go!” podcast while talking with co-host Jim Gray.

“For me, the title must be named Brady Trophy. Tom had 7 rings.”

“No matter the head coach, you can’t triumph in the Super Bowl without good footballers. I understood that during my time with the Giants,” shared Bill, who triumphed with 2 Super Bowls while being an assistant in New York before becoming the head coach of New England.
