The Blues survive late surge from the hosts to grab the 3 points

Chelsea came out on top against Luton 3-2 in what proved to be a nervy finish at Kenilworth Road on Saturday.

The Blues seemed all but destined for a win after opening a 3-goal lead, but it would prove anything but straightforward.

Cole Palmer gave the visitors an early lead as he took full advantage of Luton’s poor clearance.

Again Palmer was in the mix for Chelsea’s second as he worked the ball from left to right, feeding to Noni Madueke inside the box who managed to dribble past Amari’i Bell and smash the ball from a tight angle into the top corner.

Palmer completed his brace in the 70th minute to extend Chelsea’s lead to 3-0.

But it was all but over as stubborn Luton came back with Ross Barkley for 3-1. They even had a goal disallowed for an offside in the build-up.

Elijah Adebayo made it 3-2, which made for a nervy finish. Chelsea in the end prevailed for a vital win, their second straight in the Premier League, which stabilizes their situation in the table.
