Chelsea attacker Joao Pedro is set to ink a new deal with the team until 2032, with the option of 2 more years.
Pedro, who is 24 years old, joined from the Seagulls last year in a transfer worth around 60 million pounds, plus bonuses.
When the Brazilian signed for the team, his original deal was announced as running until 2033. However, the contract was until 2032 with an option for 1 more season.
The Blues usually include those club options when stating the length of a footballer’s deal. In reality, the Blues have extended his deal on improved terms.
In the past campaign, Joao became the 1st Chelsea forward since Diego Costa to score 20 goals in all tournaments without taking penalties.
The Brazilian also scored 3 goals during his team’s Club World Cup-winning campaign a year ago and has 8 in 7 pre-season games.
Pedro is likely to start Chelsea’s EPL opener against Fulham at the beginning of next week, with new additions Danny Welbeck and Emmanuel Emegha expected to be his backup from the bench.
