Philadelphia 76ers Joel Embiid is set to miss his team’s Game 4 of the playoffs against Brooklyn Nets on Saturday with a sprained knee, the team announced.
Embiid did endure a couple of scary moments in Game 3 as he was seen limping off on a multiple occasions. In the dying moments he blocked a shot, protecting a two-points advantage and despite saying after the game he was fine, it turns out he wouldn’t be available because of that.
The NBA All-Star is no stranger to injuries when it comes to the playoffs. He suffered a torn ligament in his right thumb and an orbital fracture last year and has missed multiple games through illness and other injuries.
The news is a major setback for the 76ers, who are aiming for their first title since 1983 and Embiid is instrumental in their ambitions.
