Trae Young was undoubtedly the star of the show for the Atlanta team as he bagged home 32 points, ending his disappointing displays at the playoff stage. He also knocked down 12 of the 22 attempts, registered 9 assists and had six rebounds, while conceding only 4 turnovers.
Dejounte Murray also had a spectacular game with 25 points, along with six rebounds and five assists.
“They were talking to each other, figuring out what the other was thinking and playing off each other,” Hawks head-coach Quin Snyder said of his star duo.
“At one point, I just told myself to be quiet and let them do it.”
Jayson Tatum scored 29 points for the Boston team, who was favorite to win after sweeping victories in the first two games. Marcus Smart added another 24 points to Hawks’ tally.
“We knew it wasn’t to be easy,” Smart admitted afterwards.
