After the Cavs were swept by the NY Knicks in the East Conference finals, Donovan Mitchell shared his commitment to the franchise and shared that he is happy to play alongside James Harden and claimed that he would be happy to see the team’s core remain intact.
“I have no doubt that we can win the championship in the future with these players,” Donovan shared after Cleveland’s 130-93 defeat in Game 4. “I have already shared that during the whole season. The most important thing is that we learn our lesson from this. It’s not easy, and it’s harsh, but now we know.
“The Knicks that eliminate us today had to go through this. Maybe not exactly the same, but they remained together and now have success. We must do the same.”
Mitchell advanced to the conference finals for the 1st time in his 9 seasons in the NBA, and claimed that he and Cleveland took a step forward after being eliminated in the postseason in the 2nd round of each of the previous 2 campaigns.
This was the 1st time the Cavs reached the conference finals in almost 10 years.
"I love it here. I don't know how else to say it. I've said it before I signed the other extension. I love it here. I have no doubt this group can get there. We have unfinished business." #Cavs G Donovan Mitchell on his future in Cleveland pic.twitter.com/wYuIwoja0r
