The game started evenly, but Denver went on a 21-2 run to build a commanding 19-point lead at the end of the first quarter, leading 37-18. San Antonio fought back and gradually narrowed the deficit, trailing by only 9 points at halftime, 49-58.
San Antonio had a strong third quarter, chipping away at their deficit, which stood at 7 points heading into the decisive final 12 minutes of basketball, with the score at 79-86. Denver quickly extended their lead to 17 points early in the fourth quarter, leading 101-84, a margin that proved sufficient for the Nuggets to secure the victory.
Nikola Jokic, the standout leader for the Denver Nuggets, once again led the way with 31 points, 7 rebounds, and 8 assists, while Jamal Murray recorded a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds, along with 8 assists.
Jeremy Sochan led the scoring for the San Antonio Spurs with 19 points, supported by Victor Wembanyama and Devin Vassell, who each contributed 17 points in the Spurs’ defeat.
