Carolina Panthers manager Dave Canales was a little worried after Bryce Young and Tetairoa McMillan had problems connecting on passes in training.
You would never think that happened, given how they play against Detroit.
Bryce completed 29 of 41 passes for 329 yards and 2 TDs to Tetairoa, who had 14 catches for a career-high 192 yards, and Carolina overcame a week with plenty of injuries to surprise the Lions 32-26.
“Everything worked really well tonight,” Tetairoa shared after the win. “There were some passes in the past several days that didn’t work out, but we trusted our coach who called the plays, and now things happened the right way. Young made good throws, and we converted. Maybe it’s just the atmosphere that made the difference.”
Bryce, who was serenaded with “M-V-P! M-V-P!” chants by supporters in the 4th quarter, claimed he never 2nd-guessed throwing McMillan’s way because he trusts him so much.
The Panther quarterback told the media that he knew what kind of player Tetairoa is and that he always trusts him and has confidence in him.
