The USA national men’s football team manager Mauricio Pochettino has spoken about his exit from Chelsea and revealed that he chose to leave the club from Stamford Bridge after the chiefs changed the goal of the project.
Despite leading the west London giants back to the European tournaments and reaching the EFL Cup final, the head coach felt his vision for the project was not aligned with the directors of the club.
“What I was promised didn’t happen. Maybe I did something wrong,” the Argentinian boss shared with the media. “When I became the manager of Chelsea, we were 12th in the EPL and were not part of the European tournaments. It was the process of the change of ownership, and we needed to prioritize some things.”
Mauricio added that for him to finish 6th in the Premier League from the position that he took the Blues by winning the last 5 or 6 matches and to play in a final was something solid to build for the future, but the chiefs had a different opinion about the progress and the Argentinian decided that in this case is better for him to leave.
"It's difficult for people to understand!" 😵💫
