The 19-year-old is expected to sign a long-term deal with the Blues after the two teams had reached an agreement on Tuesday night.
Should the move be completed by tomorrow afternoon, Lavia will be available for Chelsea’s next game against West Ham on Sunday.
The 19-year-old infamously snubbed Liverpool in favor of Chelsea just after the Reds agreed terms with Southampton.
The midfielder impressed with the Saints as he made 29 appearances last season and despite them being relegated Lavia is wasting no time in returning to England’s top flight.
