Klay Thompson’s return to the Bay Area will come on the 1st night of the 2024-25 Emirates NBA Cup schedule.
The guard and his new franchise, the Dallas Mavericks, will play against the Golden State Warriors in San Francisco on November 12th, part of the full NBA Cup schedule unveiled today.
The rest of the league’s regular campaign schedule will be announced in 2 days.
Klay Thompson, who formed the greatest shooting backcourt in National Basketball Association history alongside Steph Curry, inked a 3-year, 50 million dollar contract with Mavs in the current offseason and will now return to the place he called home for the 1st 13 campaigns during his time in the NBA.
That won’t be the only interesting match on the opening night of the schedule for the 2nd edition of the NBA’s in-campaign tournament, however, as the opening half of the national doubleheader on TNT will show the Knicks to play against the 76ers in Philly.
"I don't think Klay Thompson ever wanted to be in another uniform. … I have so much respect and admiration for him because of how competitive he is." 😤 @LegsESPN on what he expects to see in Klay's return to the Bay on Nov. 12th 👀 pic.twitter.com/PVHn8XlBUR
