Roma secured their spot in the Europa League semi-finals with a victory over Serie A rivals AC Milan at the Stadio Olimpico.
Gianluca Mancini opened the scoring for the hosts just 12 minutes into the game, capitalizing on Lorenzo Pellegrini’s shot that rebounded off the woodwork. Ten minutes later, Paulo Dybala doubled Roma’s lead with a superb effort, extending their aggregate lead to 3-1.
Roma faced adversity when Mehmet Zeki Celik was shown a red card for a lunging challenge on Rafael Leao, reducing them to 10 men.
Despite the setback, Milan managed to pull one back late in the game, with Matteo Gabbia scoring a consolation goal.
The match also saw the return of England international Tammy Abraham, who made his comeback from an anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury, replacing the injured Romelu Lukaku in the 28th minute.
With this victory, Roma booked their place in the Europa League semi-finals, where they will face Bayer Leverkusen for a chance to advance to the final.
