Mike Babcock’s appointment as the Columbus Blue Jackets head coach will happen during the weekend with a 2-year contract.
Mike will earn 4 million dollars per campaign.
The 8-year deal he inked with the Toronto Maple Leafs in 2015 will expire this Friday.
Earlier in June, there were rumors that Babcock would return to the league with Blue Jackets. Columbus would wait to make it official when his contract with Maple Leafs expires.
Mike will replace Brad Larsen, who was the head coach of the franchise in the past 2 campaigns, as he finished last season with a 25-49-9 record and 59 points.
Toronto dismissed Babcock in 2019 with 3 years remaining on his 8-year, 50 million-dollar deal.
