After the end of the season for the Atlanta Hawks, Bogdan Bogdanovic returned to his native Serbia, and when asked if his former team Partizan had a chance against the American squads, he replied: “If Partizan plays against NBA teams, success will depend on a lot of factors.”
“First of all, it depends on what the rules are – European or American. If they are European, then the situation would be in favor of my home team. Pre-season matches are not a good indicator, because usually the players are not at their best form,” said Bogdanovic in Belgrade.
“It’s hard to compare European basketball and the NBA. The game is just different in the U.S., it’s a completely different dimension. Marketing and entertainment play a big role, and physics is also a big factor. There’s a certain freedom to the game, and the speed is bigger. It’s not easy to get used to it. I think it’s a little easier for an NBA basketball player to get used to European basketball than the other way around,” says Bogdanovic.
