Wembanyama leads Spurs to Game 1 win against Thunder

Victor Wembanyama finished with 41 points and 24 boards, Dylan Harper scored 24 points and a team postseason-record 7 steals, and the San Antonio Spurs shocked the Oklahoma City Thunder by defeating them 122-115 after double-OT in Game 1 of the West Conference finals.

Wemby sealed the triumph with a pair of dunks in the final 60 seconds of the 2nd overtime, 1 of them leading to a 3-point play, and San Antonio stole home-court advantage and defeated OKC for the 5th time in 6 matches in the current campaign.

Stephon Castle notched 17 points, Devin Vassell and Keldon Johnson each finished with 13 points, while Julian Champagnie scored 11 for San Antonio, which won without De’Aaron Fox, who is sidelined with a right ankle problem.

There is a huge chance that De’Aaron will be available for Game 2.

“Everybody performed well on the court and that’s why we won the match,” Victor shared after the triumph in Oklahoma. The French superstar became the youngest basketballer with at least 40 points and 20 boards in a postseason match, overcoming Kareem Abdul-Jabbar at the top.
