Denver Nuggets superstar Jamal Murray has withdrawn from the Canadian national men’s basketball team for the upcoming FIBA World Cup, as the reason he did it he shared that he needs more rest after the long season in the NBA that ended with the guard winning his 1st title in June.

“When I joined my teammates during the training camp, I wanted to see how my body would respond after the tough NBA campaign and if I would be physically able to play at the highest level required for the upcoming competition,” Jamal shared on social media.
“After talks with the medical staff and the club, it became clear that I’m not at 100%, and I have made the difficult decision to not play at the FIBA World Cup.”
Murray didn’t join Team Canada for a series of friendly matches in Europe beginning a few days ago, and It was expected that most likely he would withdraw from the team for the upcoming competition.
