Coyotes winning streak continues

The Arizona Coyotes were victorious in a hard-fought match against Vancouver Canucks on Thursday night.

Travis Boyd was the starman, scoring twice for the second time this season and Lowson Crouse added another one. Goaltender Ivan Prosvetov made 29 saves.

Since losing to Carolina on 3 March, the Arizona team went on to win five straight home games and their record of 25 points after the All-Star break puts them 7th highest in the NHL.

“We’ve just got a lot of belief in each other right now,” Boyd said in a post-match Interview.

“We’ve proven to ourselves that if we play the right way, any given night we can be at any given team. I think that’s what you’re seeing right now.”

Vancouver’s Elias Pettersson had a goal and an assist, while Andrei Kuzmenko scored for the second consecutive game. Goaltender Thatcher Demko had 24 saves for the Canucks, who went 0 for 5 on the power play to see their five-game winning streak come to an end.

“We got that goal and maybe we thought it would be easy,” Canucks coach Rick Tocchet said “You’ve just got to work, plain and simple.”

The Coyotes host Chicago on Saturday night, while the Canucks pay a visit to Los Angeles also on Saturday night.
