The Arizona Coyotes are set to terminate Alex Galchenyuk’s contract, just twelve days after signing him on a one-year deal.
The reason behind it is the alleged arrest of the forward, which has occurred on June 9 for private property hit and run, disorderly conduct, failure to obey, resisting arrest, and threatening or intimidating. The Scottsdale PD further said Galchenyuk’s hit-and-run featured “only property damage and no injuries.”
All of these charges are yet to be proven in court.
As things stand the Coyotes announced their new player has been put on the waivers to terminate his contract, but refused to elaborate the situation.
Galchenyuk played 11 games with the Colorado Avalanche, failing to score in all matches, while receiving 4 penalty minutes.
Playing for the Avalanche’s AHL affiliate, Galchenyuk fared much better, finishing with 16 goals and 26 assists for 42 points in 42 games.
