The Serbian started the clash excellently and won the 1st 5 games of the match and was very close to blanking his opponent in the opening set, but Rafa won 1 game and lost 6-1.
The 2nd set also started in the best way possible for Djokovic as the Serbian won the 1st 4 games but after that his Spaniard opponent tied the games after winning 4 straight himself. Despite that, Nole won the next 2 games as he broke Rafa’s serve for 5-4 lead and then closed the set and the match with his serve.
That was Djokovic 3rd victory against Nadal on clay in Paris, but the previous 2 were on Roland-Garros. Nole will face either Koepfer or Arnaldi in the 3rd round of the tournament.
