Calgary Flames Tyler Toffoli will be the captain of Team Canada for the IIHF World Championship that will be played at Tampere, Finland, and Riga, Latvia.

Coyotes Crouse, Flyers Laughton, Flames Lucic, and Flames Weegar were chosen as alternate captains.
“I am pleased for the chance to play for Canada at the world championship, and it is praise to be chosen captain of a collective with so many excellent players,” the captain shared.
“Lawson, Scott, Milan, and MacKenzie are respectable leaders on and off the ice, and I can’t wait to lead Team Canada with them. Our players are delighted to show the Maple Leaf, and we will symbolize Canada with dignity as we compete for the 1st place.”
Tyler notched a career-high 34 goals and gave 39 assists after 82 matches with Calgary in the 2022-23 season.
