The player from the Dominican Republic had a fantastic start to his career in the NHL – he was voted in 2nd place in AL Rookie of the Year in 2016. He finished his rookie season .299 with 20 home runs in 53 matches.
The next season Sanchez was even better, with 33 home runs, and even got MVP votes.
However, things don’t work out well for him in the last seasons as he can’t keep above .200.
Sanchez will now be able to play for the affiliate and leave if he is not endorsed to the 1st team by the beginning of May.
