Colin Kaepernick hasn’t played for the 49ers in six and a half years, but recently he dropped a hint that he may be on his way back to the NFL.
In his primer, the 35-year-old was a force to be reckoned with as he led the San Francisco team to a Super Bowl in 2013.
Unfortunately for him, Kaepernick was ditched after the ’16 season after being involved in protest against systematic inequality and police brutality by kneeling during the national anthem.
Ever since then rumors have surrounded the quarterback whether he is still fit enough to return to the elite sport.
As of June, Kaepernick stated that he hasn’t got any workouts scheduled with any NFL team.
“I’m going to keep pushing,” Kaepernick says. “I’m going to keep fighting for it because I know I can step on the field and play. Every workout, every opportunity I’ve had to show that, the feedback has always been positive. Everything from, ‘He’s still an elite player,’ to ‘The workout was great; it was better than expected.”
