Sharks' player scored both goals in 2-6 defeat against Winnipeg
Erik Karlsson recorded a historic achievement in the NHL, although his team San Jose Sharks lost 2-6 in their visit to Winnipeg on Monday. The 32-year-old Swede scored both goals for the Sharks and now has 100 points on the campaign (25 goals and 75 assists).
He became the first defender to score 100 points in a season since Brian Leach, who did so in 1991/92. In the more than one hundred year history of the NHL, such an achievement has been recorded only 15 times, the record being held by Bobby Orr from the 1970/71 season, when he scored 139 points.
Despite Karlsson’s good performances, his efforts did not contribute for more than an honorable loss for San Jose.
