Brooks Koepka shared that the LIV Golf players who didn’t play for the USA at the Ryder Cup should have shown better results to force their way into the team.
Brooks is the only golfer from LIV playing in this year’s edition of the tournament across both teams. Koepka comes to the Italian capital having triumphed with his 5th major at the PGA Championship in May and having tied for 2nd at this year’s Masters.
Brooks was 1 of Zach Johnson’s captain’s selections, but the featuring of just Koepka from LIV unlocked great disappointment by his fellow golfers in the same league because they didn’t call.
“I don’t choose who plays at the Ryder Cup. It doesn’t — everybody had the chance to be in Rome. I mean, I had the same chance as every other LIV golfer, and I’m here.”
Q: If the Ryder Cup came down to one match on the course to decide it, I suspect if you ask all 24 guys here if they want the ball, they’d say yes. How many of them do you think really mean it?
