Manchester City won the 2024 Community Shield after a 1-1 draw in the regular time against Manchester United after 2 late goals from both teams but the Sky Blues were better in the shootout to lift the trophy.
The 1st half was very disappointing as it finished without a goal on target from either team.

Late in 2nd half, Rashford had a fantastic opportunity to give the Red Devils the lead but his shot ended in the post. However, minutes later, Manchester United secured the lead after substitute Alejandro Garnacho scored in the 82nd minute after an assist from the captain Bruno Fernandes.
When Erik ten Hag’s team thought that they secured the trophy, the Sky Blues found a way to return as in the last possible moment of the regular time Bernardo Silva tied the result after Oscar Bobb’s assist and forced the title to be decided after penalties.
However, the hero Bernardo Silva missed the 1st penalty for Manchester City. Sancho missed the 4th penalty for Manchester United, and Savio tied the result in the shootout.
Jonny Evans missed the penalty that cost the Red Devils the trophy and Pep Guardiola’s side triumphed with the Community Shield.
