Manny Machado has undergone an injury on his right elbow after he tore his tendon in Tuesday’s game against Los Angeles and is set to miss the next 4 to 6 months of play.

That has ruled out the 31-year-old for the remainder of the postseason, even tough the Padres were not qualified, anyways, and he is expected to make his return somewhere around spring training camp.
Machado was reduced to designated hitter in September due to tennis elbow. He finished hitting .258 with 30 home runs and 91 RBIs.
A stark contrast to last fall, when the third baseman led San Diego reach the NL Championship series and was subsequently voted second in NL MVP.
