For the deal to become official, he needs to pass a physical.
J.D. struck .271 with 33 home runs and 103 runs batted in in just 113 matches in the past season for the Dodgers, making it worth the 1-year, 10 million dollar deal he inked before the campaign with the MLB franchise from Los Angeles. Back and groin injuries stopped him from playing more games, but despite that, he was picked to be a National League All-Star the 5 times he made it in the AL.
Martinez was 1 of the best free agents. Jordan Montgomery is still without a franchise in the final days of spring practices.
The slugger slots right into the middle of New York’s roster and gives the Mets another much-needed power hitter to pair with Pete Alonso. Pete also has a 1-year deal and will be a free agent after the end of the campaign.
