Lando Norris secured pole position for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, leading a dominant McLaren front row with teammate Oscar Piastri in second. The result sets McLaren up strongly to clinch their first Constructors’ Championship since 1998, as they hold a 21-point lead over Ferrari heading into the season finale.

Norris was 0.209 seconds ahead of Piastri in a highly competitive qualifying session. Carlos Sainz secured third for Ferrari, keeping their slim championship hopes alive. However, Ferrari faces a significant challenge, with Charles Leclerc starting from the back of the grid due to a deleted lap in Q2 and a 10-place grid penalty for a previous infraction.
Lewis Hamilton’s final race for Mercedes took a frustrating turn as he qualified 18th. His decisive Q1 lap was ruined when his car struck a bollard dislodged by Kevin Magnussen’s Haas, which was attempting to yield space.
The stage is set for a dramatic finale, with McLaren looking to seal the title and a competitive midfield battling for pride in the season’s last race.
