With the 2 McLaren pilots cruising towards a 1-2 triumph in the past weekend, the team’s pit wall decided to pit Lando 1st to minimize any potential threat from Lewis Hamilton in 3rd place.
Lando Norris says the #HungarianGP finish could've "absolutely" been handled differently – and better – from both his side and the team's side.

Because of that, Lando’s fresh tyre advantage saw Oscar emerge behind him when he made his own pit stop 2 laps later, with the team then ordering Lando to give the 1st place back.
It took 15 laps, a lot of discussions over the radio to finally Lando to give Oscar’s lead back despite that Norris claiming after the end of the race that he always intended to let his teammate to finish ahead of him.
Lando revealed that if he had the chance again, he would give Oscar’s position back immediately to reset the race between them as soon as possible.
