Mets to cut Lopez after another ejection accident

The NY Mets organized a players-only team meeting after getting swept by the LA Dodgers with a 10-3 defeat that featured another late-inning bullpen implosion and Jorge Lopez throwing his glove into the public after being thrown out of the match by umpire.

The result was evened at 3 before the 8^th inning but after that, Los Angeles scored 6 times off 3 relievers. One of them was Jorge, who allowed a 2-run home run to Shohei Ohtani, then fell behind 3-1 to Freddie Freeman before being frustrated with 3^rd-base umpire Ramon De Jesus’ and that let to the relieve ejection.

He untucked his jersey and threw his glove in the stands as he was leaving the field. After the match, he shared with the media that he didn’t regret his actions.

However, after the game, the Mets started the process of designating Lopez for assignment, as now the franchise has 7 days to trade or cut him.
