Nikola Jokic was on a high again with his 23rd triple-double of the season

Michael Porter Jr. delivered his best performance of the season, scoring 36 points to lead the Denver Nuggets to a 125-113 victory over the New Orleans Pelicans on Monday night. Nikola Jokić recorded his league-leading 23rd triple-double of the season, finishing with 27 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists to help Denver secure the win.

Jamal Murray contributed 20 points and eight assists, while Julian Strawther added 15 points off the bench. Zeke Nnaji, stepping in for the injured Aaron Gordon, made the most of his first start of the season with a season-high 12 points.

Despite the loss, Trey Murphy III had a career night for the Pelicans, scoring 41 points, including 39 of the team’s first 85. He was lights out from beyond the arc, making eight of 12 three-pointers, but his teammates struggled, shooting just 37.3% from the field.

CJ McCollum put up 30 points, while Zion Williamson contributed 14 for New Orleans, who fought back from a 20-point deficit to cut the lead to eight entering the fourth quarter. However, Denver held firm down the stretch to seal the win.

The two teams will meet again on Wednesday in Denver for a rematch.
