The raining champions had couple of chances to score, but all of them were off target. In the middle of the first half Giroud tried exceptional bicycle kick after a corner, but the ball flew just inches over the crossbar.
Later on Thiaw made a big mistake and gave Dia the chance to go one on one against Maignan, but the goalkeeper made great tackle and stopped the Salernitana forward.
Right before the break the Rossoneri opened the scoring. Bennacer crossed from a corner kick and Olivie Giroud headed it home from close range.
Just after hour of play Salernitana leveled the score. Dia was left all alone in the penalty box and left Maignan no chance for 1-1. In the 70th minute Milan were given a penalty, but VAR checked the situation and showed that there is no foul in the box.
With the draw Milan stay 4th with 48 points – two away from the second placed Inter.
