Aleksandar Mitrovic has received an 8-game suspension for his extraordinary clash with referee Chris Kavanagh, during Fulham FA Cup quarter-final exit at Old Trafford last month.
Manager Marco Silva has also received a 2-game suspension for his furious reaction on the touchline.
Back in March 19 Mitrovic and Silva were both sent off in a matter of seconds as they both tried to physically intimidate the match official.
Mitrovic has served his first game of the ban – a 2-1 loss to Bournemouth this weekend – and is set to look his team’s next seven games from the stands.
Silva, meanwhile, has admitted using abusive language towards Kavanagh and was subsequently given his 2-match suspension, which would take place in Cottagers next two outings – against West Ham and Everton.
Mitrovic and Silva’s suspensions and fines were handed out by an independent commission, but on Tuesday the FA announced its intention to appeal the sanctions, as they seem unhappy with their expected duration.
