Lando Norris was left disappointed with McLaren’s decision to leave him with dry tires on, while the rain was pouring down in the opening stages of the Dutch Grand Prix.
The 23-year-old started second and was doing well early on, but staying out on slick tires, while the majority of the field opted for intermediates proved costly as the McLaren driver plummeted down the order.
“Wrong decision. [We] just made the wrong decision at the beginning. I guess it happens, but at the same time, [we] should be doing a slightly better job than we did today.” Norris commented afterwards.
However, the Brit admitted that there are positives to take from the weekend and that is McLaren’s improved pace. The orange cars looked on fire all throughout and were a match for the front-runners with the exception of the high-flying Red Bull.
