Evan Bouchard emerged as the hero for the Edmonton Oilers, scoring in overtime to secure a hard-fought 4-3 victory over the Vancouver Canucks on Friday, thereby leveling their Western Conference semifinal series at one win apiece.

The Oilers’ dynamic duo of Leon Draisaitl and Connor McDavid showcased their brilliance once again, each registering four points in the game. Additionally, Mattias Ekholm also found the back of the net for Edmonton, while goaltender Stuart Skinner stood tall with 16 saves.

In a dramatic overtime period, Bouchard capitalized on a rush led by Draisaitl and McDavid, receiving a drop pass and unleashing a long shot that deflected off the stick of Canucks defenseman Ian Cole and into the net at the 5:38 mark of overtime. This goal sealed the crucial victory for the Oilers and set the stage for an exciting remainder of the series.

At the same time in Boston, Florida Panthers clinched a commanding 6-2 victory over Bruins in Game 3.

Evan Rodrigues led the charge with two goals, while Brandon Montour contributed a goal and an assist. Vladimir Tarasenko, Carter Verhaeghe, and Brandon Montour also found the back of the net for Florida, propelling them to a 2-1 series lead in the best-of-seven matchup.

Game 4 is set to take place on Sunday night in Boston, where the Bruins will look to bounce back from their defeat.

Matthew Tkachuk played a pivotal role for the Panthers, tallying three assists, while Aleksander Barkov chipped in with two assists. Florida capitalized on the power play, converting on four out of six opportunities.

Sergei Bobrovsky stood tall between the pipes for the Panthers, making 15 saves in a stellar defensive performance. Despite a late push from Boston in the third period, Florida’s strong defensive effort secured their second consecutive victory in the series, marking a turnaround after dropping all four regular-season meetings against the Bruins.
