Poland is planning to bid for the Olympic Games in either 2040 or 2044, according to Prime Minister Donald Tusk, as reported by the DPA news agency. Germany is also expected to submit a bid for the 2040 Summer Games to the International Olympic Committee (IOC).
Tusk mentioned that Poland has been working for many months on this ambitious goal, expressing hope that the country will one day realize its dream of hosting the Olympics. The Prime Minister identified 2040 and 2044 as realistic options for Poland’s bid.
In contrast, Germany aims to secure the hosting rights for either the 2036 or 2040 Games, as these are the next available opportunities after Brisbane in 2032 and Los Angeles in 2028.
Historically, Germany has hosted the Summer Olympics in 1936 and 1972, as well as the Winter Games in 1936. Poland, however, has yet to host the Olympic Games, making this potential bid a significant step toward achieving that milestone.
