George Russell topped the standings in the final free practice before qualifying for the final start of the Formula 1 season – the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
The Mercedes driver managed to lap a 1:24.418 over the course of the final hour, which was enough to beat McLaren’s Lando Norris by 0.095s, the trio completed by Woking’s co-driver Oscar Piastri, who was 0.392 slower than the leader.
Max Verstappen had many complaints about the handling of his car during the last practice session, especially with the stability of the rear end. The world champion managed to set only the sixth fastest time in the last practice, and his gap to Russell was 0.735. In front of him were Alex Albon and Charles Leclerc, who were respectively 0.511 and 0.681 slower than the first.
