The world champion won the second battle for a starting grid this weekend

Max Verstappen won the Sprint Shootout in the Austrian Grand Prix weekend. This means he will start first in the sprint race later on Saturday where total of 36 points will be won by the top 8 finishers.

The Dutchman lapped a time of 1.04.440 and left his teammate Sergio Perez behind him at 0.493 gap. Lando Norris finished third in front of Nico Hulkenberg, Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. Fernando Alonso, Lance Stroll, Esteban Ocon and Kevin Magnussen rounded up the top 10.


Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton was the big surprise of the afternoon, finishing 18th in the first session because of a heavy traffic during his fast lap.
