Calgary Flames player Nikita Zadorov has requested a trade out of the franchise.
The defenceman’s camp, led by his agent Dan Milstein of Gold Star Sports Management, is expecting a swift solution.
One of Nikita’s preferred destinations is the Toronto Maple Leafs.
Zadorov notched and delivered a big hit to Maple Leafs’ Tyler Bertuzzi in the 3rd period of yesterday’s clash vs. Toronto. Flames were trailing 4-1 but got back in the match to force OT, but were defeated after a shootout.
Nikita has 1 goal and 4 assists for 5 points in 12 matches since the beginning of the campaign. The player is in his final year of a 2-year, 7-million-dollar contract that pays him 3.5 million dollars per season.
The Russian defenceman joined Calgary during the offseason in 2021 when the Chicago Blackhawks traded him for a 3rd round draft selection. Zadorov finished with a career-high 14 goals last campaign in his 2nd year with the Flames.
Nikita Zadorov would be so perfect for the #NJDevils.
I hope they trade for him TODAY.
In addition to this massive hit, he had a goal in the Flames loss to the Maple Leafs.
With him available, the Devils should consider.
