AC Milan hits the marketing jackpot with Giroud goalkeeper jersey

Serie A 8th round clash between Genoa and AC Milan went down in the Italian championship history as the final 10 minutes were absolute blockbuster.

The Rossoneri scored the winning goal for 1-0 in the 85 minute, but in stoppage time their goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off and striker Olivier Giroud had to step in as a keeper, because Milan have used all their permitted substitutions.

The Frenchman was saved by the crossbar in the free kick right after, but in the final seconds made a great intervention to save a goal in his net and the away fans went crazy.

The day after AC Milan decided to move Giroud’s profile into the “Goalkeepers” section on their website and even released special goalkeeper jersey with his name. In less than 24 hours all kits were sold out, showing that the Rossoneri made a great marketing move.
